Summer hill is located in Sydney’s Inner West bordering the neighbouring suburbs of Leichhardt, Haberfield, Ashfield, Dulwich Hill, and, Lewisham.
There is a station at Summer Hill on the main T2 line between Central and Parramatta. This provides good access to the city centre to the east as well as location to the west including The Blue Mountains. Its quite busy at rush hour since it provides the best option for many commuters.
The Light Rail line between Central and Dulwich Hill runs along the border between Summer Hill and Lewisham. The suburbs share a Light Rail Stop at Lewisham West. This provides good access to the business districts of Pyrmont and Haymarket as well as being 30 minutes from Central. That platform to platform time is longer than the 14minutes for the main T2 rail line. But it may be quicker door to door depending on where you are in the suburb and the phasing of the services
The 413 bus also provides a good service to the city though its not particularly frequent at 20 or 30 minute intervals. There are also numerous busses that run along Parramatta road which borders Summer Hill and Haberfield.
